Obituary of Beverly Jean Hanson

Beverly "Jean" Hanson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 26, 2022. She was 89 years young. Jean was born April 19, 1933 to her wonderful parents Myrtle and Al Hoornaert in French Camp, CA. She spent her childhood in Stockton, CA with her beloved brother Alan Hoornaert. Jean was advanced many times in elementary school and started high school at age 12. She attributed it to her love for reading. Jean was a very talented artist and won lots of awards for her paintings. She played the piano and lovfed to dance, sew, cook and garden. She loved Christmas and Easter and had many gatherings at her house. Jean never forgot a birthday and welcomed everyone into her home and life. She was always smiling and positive and a strong shoulder to lean on.


She was advertising manager at the Red Bluff Daily News for 30 years. She was one of the very few women to become an advertising manager at that time. She loved her job very much and made many lifelong friends.


Her and her husband of 35 years, John Hanson married later in life life but both felt they had found "the love of their life". They traveled to their cabin in Minnesota every summer for many years and made friends all across the states. Jean's favorite saying was "remember don't take life too seriously because it moves too fast and ends too soon to be wasted on 'if only or I should have'".


Jean is survived by her husband John Hanson, her children Valerie and Terance Bardue, Robin and Duane Cross, Alan Thompson, Kasey and Aaron Bruggerman, Kelly and Chuck Fuller, Kris Lundeen. Sixteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter Rachel Chaffin and John's daughter Kim Shaw. She will be greatly missed by all.
