Obituary of Catherine Irene Skahan

Catherine Skahan, devoted Mother, Grandmother, caring friend and faithful Christian, passed away peacefully, on January 31, 2023 at the age of 69. Despite facing health challenges for a majority of her adult life, Catherine lived with grace, courage, and an unwavering faith in her savior, Jesus.  Throughout her life, she was a shining example of strength and resilience.

Before Parkinson's disease progressed to a debilitating point, Catherine was a talented artist, a creative and successful home gardener, a wonderful cook and a caring homemaker.  Her home was always open to anyone in need and she and her husband John would often host welcoming Bible studies there.  Catherine was extremely generous and had a beautiful heart; always praying for others and hoping they had lives full of many blessings and much happiness.

Born in San Francisco, she was raised in a loving family. She was a devoted mother to her dear Valerie, and later became a loving and fun stepmother to Gabby, Teresa and Gene when she married John in 1982.

Catherine joins her husband, John, and her parents, Ernest and Constance in heaven. She is survived by her daughter, stepchildren and her ten grandchildren.

Catherine rests in peace, free from the pain of illness with the assurance of eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We find comfort in knowing that we will one day be reunited with her in heaven. So many who knew and loved Cathy feel they are forever changed for having known such a special, beautiful soul.
