Obituary of Lillie Elizabeth Chapman

Lillie Chapman Lillie Elizabeth Chapman touched many lives before she passed away on the morning of May 15th, 2009. She was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lillie will be remembered as a generous and caring person. The backbone of her family. She was born 72 years ago in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Lillie’s parents, Frank and Stella Cole, brought her and her siblings to California in 1945. Where she spent the last fifteen years of her life, here in Oroville, California. Lillie is survived by her beloved husband, Lester B. Chapman. She is also survived by her children, Bill Rainwater of Oroville, CA, Leonard Rainwater of Rio Linda, CA, Chester Smith of Lathrop, CA, and Cheryl Peterson of Oroville; her sisters, Patsy Hallinan of Oroville and Ginger Hall of Tennessee and her brothers, Frank Cole of Napa, CA and Dennis Cole of Clearlake, CA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lillie was preceded in death by her sons, Frank Rainwater and Rick Rainwater and her parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the family residence, 62 Dads Lane, Oroville, California. All condolences may be sent to the same address. Lillie will be greatly missed.
