Obituary of Betty Jenkinson Lindberg

Betty Jenkinson Lindberg A memorial service for, Betty Jenkinson Lindberg, 89, of Chico, CA, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery. Betty passed away on April 10, 2009 at her residence in Chico. She was born on June 15, 1919 in Detroit, MI to Edward Newton and Flora Jenkinson. Betty attended UCSF Mt. Zion Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse for 35 years. On November 11, 1945 she wed Ernest Lindberg, they resided in Menlo Park for many years, where she worked for Stanford University Hospital and Stanford Children’s Hospital. In the late 70’s they moved to Concow and she went to work for Oroville Hospital. Betty moved to Chico in 2000. She enjoyed square dancing, Grange activities, traveling, camping, water and snow sports, reunions with Ernie’s Air Force Squadron and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Steve (Teri) Lindberg of Chico; daughter, Shari (Eric) Bosler of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Megan (Jeremy) Thompson of The Dalles, OR, Hilary (Gabe) Flynn of Plymouth, MN, Josh (Kristen) Lindberg of Eugene, OR, Annarose (Jonathan) Mitchell of Santa Barbara, CA and Arthur Lindberg of Biggs, CA; and great grandchildren, Jarrett Thompson and Finley Lindberg. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ernie Lindberg. Her love and cheerfulness will be in our hearts forever. Charitable donations may be made to Gideons or to the Oroville Rescue Mission in care of Affordable Mortuary who are handling the arrangements.
