Obituary of Travis Lee Knight

A Catholic Mass will be held for, Travis Lee Knight, 38, of Chico, on Saturday, December 20, 2008, 3:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 416 Chestnut Street in Chico. Travis passed away on December 15, 2008, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on April 15, 1970 in Redding, CA. Travis was an Allstar in 4H in Bella Vista and Millville, CA, winning Grand Champion in 1985. He graduated from Mercy High School in Red Bluff in 1988. Travis was a fraternity brother of Alpha Gamma Rho, graduating from Chico State with a degree in agriculture business. He traveled on the local rodeo circuit as a bullrider and volunteered to coach youth sports; soccer, basketball and baseball. Travis also sponsored a boys soccer team. He was an avid outdoorsman; hunter and fisherman. Travis was an extremely patriotic man, he even had a tattoo thanking our veterans for their service. He is survived by his four-year-old daughter, Skylar Knight; mother, Irene Knight; siblings, Marlene Jurkovich (Mike), Veronica Cruz, Carroll Mendenhall (Marcie), Spencer Knight and Danielle Reena Knight; nieces and nephews, Ade, Cory, Kimberlee, Mark, Amanda, Mireya, Kaitlyn, Bradley, Trevor, Loleya and Oladokun, as well as many extended family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencer Knight account for the benefit of Skylar Knight College Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
