Dawn Marlene Poscich

 

 

Dawn Marlene Poscich 88, of Durham California went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2022. Dawn was born in Hanover Pennsylvania on August 30, 1933, to Luther warren Hauser and Gladys Marie Hauser. She graduated From Frankford High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. upon graduating, Dawn pursued a career

in nursing until she married the love of her life Francis Poscich.  She was mother of f our children and dedicated her life to family and being a humanitarian.  In 1977, Frank and Dawn relocated their family from Akron, Ohio to Tampa, Florida. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dawn had a profound effect on so many lives. She lived a life of dignity and honor. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 147 holding numerous offices including President in Tampa for over 30 years. Dawn volunteered at the James A Haley veteran's Hospital for 10 + years and was a longstanding member of the Tampa Federation Garden Club. Dawn was also a volunteer and longtime supporting advocate of The Barry Kirshner Wildlife Foundation. She moved to Durham, California in 2014 where she became a member of the United Methodist Church in Durham. She loved her church family and was a member of the choir.

Since moving to Durham, Dawn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary unit 673. She most loved being with friends and family.

 

She was preceded in death in by her husband Francis, her sons Charles, James and Thomas. She is survived by her daughter Joan Marie Gulla (Dennis). Sister Barbara Fry and Brother Edward Ulrich. Grandchildren Amber Rose Ross (John), Trevin Joseph Poscich (Kelly), Justin Harlan Poscich, Gina Marie Gulla, Michael Francis Gulla, Dea Haggard (Daniel) Monica Brasher (Brian). Great grandchildren Bethany, Maisy and Hope Ross, Tommy Poscich, William Winans, Gabriel and Deanna Arias, Aiden and Baily Brasher. Along with many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 23, 2022 @ 11am PST at the Durham United Methodist Church.
