Martin Kirk

Obituary of Martin Kirk

Martin Kirk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle peacefully passed December 3, 2022
at 75 years of age. Marty exemplified the “I fix things and know stuff” credo although he would more
likely be seen on his daily five-mile dog walk wearing a “life is good” shirt.
Although he loved football, he would often DVR the game because he wasn’t going to sit around all
afternoon as he had other things to do. Always had a project around the house and took meticulous
care of the yard. Last year he could still be found high up in the pines topping trees and taking down
limbs. He once built a pool house that he designed himself, raised walkway and deck around the
doughboy pool to the great pleasure of his wife. Looking under the house, he thought it would be a
good place to put his pool table. Just had to dig it out first, which he did, by hand, and kept going to add
an office and 3⁄4 bath.
Marty liked to camp and could maneuver the 35-foot fifth wheel into the tightest space. He would hike,
fish, golf, and boat his way through months long camping trips up in the mountains. He was our tech
guru, barbeque master and pourer of ubiquitous holiday mimosas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Kirk.
Loved and missed by his wife of 30 years Sheryl, his son Jeff, daughters Diana and Angela,
granddaughters Olivia and Elise, sister Karen, and brothers Jim and Tom. This is a short list and is not
meant to exclude anyone.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
