Obituary of David Quiring

David Quiring of Chico, passed away unexpectedly on April 16 th , 2023 at age 59.

He was born on July 24 th , 1963 to Sally and Ronald Quiring. David graduated from Chico High in 1982. He is survived by his mother and much-loved stepfather Sally and Clark Brandstatt, his son Aaron Wirtz, sister Kathy (Michael) Favor, and fiancé Debra Van Gieson, and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ron Quiring.

David was a talented furniture-maker, and wood-worker extraordinaire. He was a magician with wood. If you could imagine it he could build it.

David was a foodie before it was a thing. He enjoyed experimenting and inventing fun and creative new recipes. David was very eco-conscious from a young age. He was always mindful of his footprint on the planet, and strived to minimize his impact on the earth.

David was a champion dart player, and as a singles player he was unbeatable for years. He played in CADA league Division A (2004-2015). His playful side showed in his team names, “Easy Money”, “Founding Fathers” and “Who Darted”, the 2015 CADA League Division A undefeated team.

David loved to travel. Some of his favorite journeys were to Costa Rica, Ireland and the Oregon coast. He loved riding his motorcycle, and treasured his time riding with his cousin Brian.

David and Debra’s partnership was a bright and beautiful part of his life. They shared 22 years of love, family, adventures, work, and play. They supported each other through hard times and shared much joy and laughter. David was a devoted son who cherished and supported his mother at every turn. He was a pillar of the family, and his sudden loss leaves us stunned.
