Obituary of Jeanne Waner

Jeanne Shirley Waner, age 98, passed away June 7, 2023 at California Park Rehabilitation Hospital in Chico, CA, due to dementia and complications due to covid. She was born March 15, 1925 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Frank and Lillian Sewell Hunt. She graduated High School in Royal Oak in 1943.

She married her husband, Harry J. Waner on November 18, 1951 and they were married until his passing in 1982. Jeanne was also preceded in death by her brother Frank Hunt in 2007, her son Paul Michael Waner in 1954, and her son Harry Jon Waner in 2009.

Jeanne is survived, and will be greatly missed by, her children, David Woolverton, Larry Woolverton, Karen Muir, Sara Joy and Joseph Waner, her sister Betty Tipton, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Callie.

Over the years, Jeanne worked for the State of Washington, Liberty house, Ramona Senior Center and the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet. She was also a very active volunteer for several programs serving those in need.

Jeanne was an animal lover and some of her favorite things were sweets, Westerns, music, playing cards and playing bingo. She enjoyed being very active, going for daily walks every day until very late in life. She was a very strong and independent minded woman, who drove until she was 95.
