Obituary of Suzan Neitzert Parlier

       Suzan Neitzert Parlier passed away on December 16, 2023 at Enloe Hospital in Chico, California after suffering a stroke earlier that week. Suzan was born December 16, 1934 in Hanford California to Luella and Ned Neitzert. She graduated from high school in 1953. She met Robert Allen Parlier while still attending high school and they were later married on November 22, 1956. Suzan was a multi-faceted, insightful, progressive woman.

      Suzan earned an Associate of Arts degree at Bakersfield Junior Collage in 1971, Candid and outspoken, she was loved and respected by many.  A devoted wife, a loving Mother and a true friend,Suzan will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Robert Parlier, her two daughters, Nina Parlier and  Sasha Parlier-Winter, loving nieces and nephews and a large group of long time friends.

    Suzan was very insightful and through the years, both friends and relatives looked to her for wise council and advice. Suzan was an animal lover, who frequently took in the straycats that found their way to her doorstep. A supporter of animal rights, she firmly believed in the Humane society's spay and neuter concept. Suzan aligned herself with the woman's liberation Movement that defined the 1960's. She continued throughout her entire life to take keen intrest in issues related to Womans's rights worldwide. Her favorite action hero was Wonder Woman.

 

    Honoring her request, Suzan's ashes will be buried at the cemetery in Parlier California. Suzan was emphatic there would be no formal funeral nor, memorial to mark her passing.
